Type of Project: Installation / Termination and Commission of 8-Core Fibre Link

ARCADION was contacted by Hewlett Packard to assist with the supply and installation of a fibre cable interface to provide a communication link between the platform telecoms room and wireline operations on board the Dolphin Drilling, Byford Dolphin Drilling Rig.

Due to the limited timescales and urgency to complete the works, it was not possible to survey the workscope prior to mobilising. Our knowledge and experience carrying out works of this nature allowed us to procure all required materials and ship in advance of our in-house Systems Operatives arriving to site to carry out the works.

On arrival to site, the installation of the fibre link interface was completed without any delays, ensuring the duration from initial enquiry to implementation and final commissioning of the workscope was carried out in a 14 day period.

Having the latest in-house fibre optic splicing and test equipment, and fully qualified in-house system operatives, was key to meeting the client timescales.
