    2016 Aboyne Academy YPI Winners

    June 13, 2016

ARCADION were again pleased to be asked to be part of the judging panel for the 2016 Youth and Philianthropy Initiative at Aboyne Academy.

The YPI programme is currently delivered across a number of Scottish secondary schools by the Wood Family Trust and is included in the school’s curriculum. Pupil teams research a local social service issue they feel passionate about and identify an appropriate local charity to work with.  The group with the most discerning and impassioned argument wins £3000 for their chosen charity.

The winning team of Keiron Cassie, Erin Mitchell and Sebastian Stewart chose All Shapes and Sizes as their charity and delivered a comprehensive, clear and visually entertaining presentation which covered the social service provided by the charity.  ASaS was formed to enhance the life of adults with learning disabilities or difficulties and those with mental health issues by promoting social inclusion and raising public awareness.

    ARCADION have moved

    February 24, 2016

ARCADION are very pleased to announce our move to fantastic newly built and larger office and warehouse space in the ABZ Business Park in Dyce, Aberdeen. The new location accommodates for continued growth providing a stronger presence and a more flexible and accessible venue for product demonstrations, events and meetings. The adjoining warehouse will house a larger Showcase area to demonstrate our portfolio of products and services including our patented 2+1 Interlocking Bed System and expanding range of Offshore Digital Systems. The internal fit-out, carried out by ARCADION construction personnel, allows optimum use of the office and warehouse space overlooking Aberdeen Airport and comes at a time when ARCADION remain busy with Offshore and Overseas projects.

Commenting on the expansion and new office, ARCADION Technical Director Clive Gregory said “We have been looking for suitable new premises for some time and were keen to move somewhere with potential to house all facilities and personnel under one roof and allowing for the development of a larger Showcase area, more client meeting rooms and far more warehouse and yard space. The move is a springboard for ARCADION’s expansion and shows commitment to clients, business and staff in the current operating environment. Once the Showcase is complete we look forward to welcoming existing and potential clients to the new office to demonstrate how we can help provide their Offshore Accommodation Solutions”.

  • Aboyne Pupils play key role at Offshore Europe 2015

Aboyne Pupils play key role at Offshore Europe 2015

Aboyne Pupils play key role at Offshore Europe 2015

This year’s Offshore Europe event at the AECC saw pupils from Aboyne Academy, with whom the school has a well-established partnership, play a key role on one of the ARCADION stands. Pupils had worked with ARCADION staff over the past year to assist in the stand designs and their preparatory work led to the opportunity for graphic design pupils to attend the exhibition. While a whole class was involved, designs prepared by S3 pupils Owen John, Ben Preston and Mhairi Welsh were selected by ARCADION to be incorporated on the stand and a “stand-out” design by James Knowles was also used in ARCADION’s pre-show promotional adverts in both the British Airways and Eastern Airways in-flight magazines.

In addition to the Design pupils involvement pupils from Hospitality classes attended the exhibition to assist with the provision of catering and worked hard during the week preparing and distributing large numbers of venison burgers, pasta dishes and fruit smoothies to many hungry delegates. The hard work of those Home Economic pupils and the ARCADION staff resulted in the collection of over £2000 in donations to the school.

All in all the school’s involvement in the exhibition was a unique learning opportunity for the pupils and staff involved and had the added benefit of supporting school funds.

The photo shows ARCADION Technical Director, Clive Gregory presenting a cheque for the donations collected to Academy Rector, Raymond Jowett.
