Client: Apache North Sea - Forties Charlie
Type of project: Re-design / refurbishment of existing galley & mess
ARCADION re-designed and refurbished the existing galley and mess which included the construction of a temporary galley and mess facility so an uninterrupted service remained offshore.
We removed the level 2 west cabins and set up temporary galley and mess services. The existing galley and mess, including all services, were then destructed back to an empty shell and asbestos removal works were carried out by a qualified contractor.
A new galley / mess dividing, partially glazed, A60 bulkhead and door system was installed along with new B15 fire-rated perimeter liner panel and ceiling systems. In addition to this, new piping, electrical, F&G and HVAC services were installed to suit the revised layout before new static and loose catering equipment was fitted. This included bespoke mess servery counters and stainless steel galley tabling along with new refrigeration, food preparation and cooking equipment.
To complete the works new vinyl safety flooring, stripwood effect plank flooring and marine epoxy resin flooring were layed by ARCADION personnel in various areas of the galley and mess.
This bespoke marine epoxy resin flooring is a new addition to ARCADION’s portfolio and provides a seamless, decorative, hard-wearing and durable anti-slip finish ideal for use in catering facilities for the offshore and marine sector.
