BP awards Clair Accommodation Upgrade Works to ARCADION

    July 02, 2014

Growing on our continued success ARCADION is very pleased to announce a contract award from BP for brownfield accommodation upgrade works on the BP Clair platform which is situated 75km west of Shetland.

ARCADION was initially asked to carry out a FEED study into the upgrade of cabin accommodation with a view to increasing the personnel onboard by installing our patented 2+1 Interlocking Bed System.   Our specialist understanding in this area, and close working with our clients to interpret their requirements led to ARCADION being awarded the upgrade of a significant number of cabins onboard.  Our experienced teams are due to start the offshore works mid-November, whilst engineering and procurement are already underway.

Clive Gregory, ARCADION Technical Director said “Our success is not only measured through our new business but also by our repeat business.  I am delighted that our track record in providing quality, innovative and reliable total accommodation solutions in a tough, competitive environment means that clients return to us time and time again“.

  • Aboyne pupils present for charity

    Aboyne pupils present for charity

    June 06, 2014

Always keen to be involved with the curriculum, staff and pupils at Aboyne Academy , ARCADION were very pleased to be asked to be part of the judging panel for their 2014 Youth and Philianthropy Initiative.

The YPI programme is currently delivered in 110 Scottish secondary schools by the Wood Family Trust and is included in the school’s curriculum. Pupil teams research a local social service issue they feel passionate about and identify an appropriate local charity to work with.  The group with the most discerning and impassioned argument wins £3000 for their chosen charity.

This year’s winning team, including Alex Towns and Archie Flynn, chose Horseback UK as their charity and delivered a comprehensive, clear and passionate presentation covering the social service provided by the charity and explaining the impact of using horses to aid the rehabilitation of ex-serviceman injured in the course of duty.

Lisa Cormack, ARCADION’s Business Co-ordinator, helped judge the event and was very impressed with all 7 finalists.  “It’s a shame there can be only one winning team as they were all very deserving and I am always impressed with the content and professionalism with which the S2 pupils deliver their presentations.  This is my second YPI judging experience at Aboyne Academy and it is a pleasure to attend and see how well the pupils conduct themselves and represent their chosen charities”.

  • ARCADION’s Jason Addley and Total’s Elgin Platform support Perth Sea Cadets

ARCADION’s Jason Addley and Total’s Elgin Platform support Perth Sea Cadets

    June 05, 2014

One of ARCADION’s Offshore Maintenance Technician’s, Jason Addley, used to be a sea cadet when he was younger and then went on to join the Royal Navy.  The apple has not fallen far from this tree as his stepson has been with the Perth Sea Cadets for 3 years now and also plans to join the Royal Navy.

The unit’s core purpose is to celebrate Britain's maritime heritage and contribute to its future development by supporting young people as Sea Cadets.  Their adventure activities aim to develop social skills and responsibility in young people and help them build confidence in their own abilities as they learn to work as part of a team.

Being on the Perth Sea Cadet Fundraising Committee, Jason works with volunteers to help raise funds for the unit and decided to ask the bosses on the Total Elgin platform he works on for ARCADION if they would like to help support this worthy cause.  The staff onboard were only too happy to help and a cheque for £1000 was presented to CPO Brenda Goodwillie, Officer-in-Charge of Perth Sea Cadets.
